Kerry Katona to pen 'warts and all' biography

Her nearest and dearest have dished the dirt on her – so now Kerry Katona is getting in on the act, too.

The cash-strapped celeb is poised to pen an explosive “warts and all” autobiography in an attempt to keep the roof over her head (and pay for her next kebab, of course).

Kerry’s book would detail her cocaine abuse, how she blew millions on a drug and drink-fuelled lifestyle and her turbulent relationship with husband Mark Croft.

We hear that several publishers have shown an interest – one is said to be offering a £375,000 advance. And skint Kerry is hardly in a position to refuse.

A source close to the troubled mum-of-four tells us: “Kerry knows she is close to having to sign on the dole and possibly losing her house. She has lost so much of her income in recent months. The days of living to excess are well and truly over.

“She knows the only thing people will pay for now is to see her car-crash life in print.

“Publishers are eager to get her to sign on the condition she lifts the lid on her recent troubles, truthfully.”

Kerry, who turns 29 on Sunday, is no stranger to spilling the beans in books. In October 2006 her first autobiography, Too Much, Too Young, about her difficult childhood was a best-seller. She then had a go at writing novels. Although after Tough Love failed to fly off the shelves, plans for a second were scrapped.

Until two years ago, Kerry made £2million a year from various deals. But having recently lost a couple of contracts, she needs to come up with a money-spinning plan, fast.

Her deal to film reality shows with MTV ended, then she got the cold shoulder from frozen food chain Iceland after footage of her snorting a white powder emerged a fortnight ago.

The Iceland deal was worth £250,000 a year – plus £50 a week in grocery vouchers.

Former Atomic Kitten star Kerry certainly won’t be short of juicy material for any new book.

Last week she was arrested for allegedly assaulting her accountant David McHugh.

And her stormy marriage with Mark, 39, is said to be in trouble again over her desire to re-hire forensic accountant Frank Cochran.

In March, Cochran found that millions of pounds of her money had gone missing. He quit after angry clashes with Croft.

Mr Cochran said: “Kerry’s prediction that she will lose her home and have to claim benefits is an accurate one.

“She has no income and no real prospect of securing one unless she sorts her life out and rebuilds her reputation.”

Now that really would be a happy ending.
